Ukraine is capable of producing 60-70 billion cubic meters of gas, stated Daniel Yergin, Executive Vice President, IHS Cambridge Energy Research Associates. The international energy expert, however, pointed out that the country would be able to triple its gas production only if it manages to create a favorable investment climate.

Exports of Ukrainian grain amounted to 9.65 million tons since the beginning of the marketing year (starting July 1, 2011). The outflow rose 42 percent compared to 6.79 million tons as of January 4 last year, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Boyko issued a statement that in 2011 Ukraine produced 8.8 percent more coal compared to 2010. This is the first time since 2000 that the country reached such high levels of coal production.
