OIL & GAS 2007 International Forum Opens In Kyiv

November 8, 2007

The 11th International Forum OIL & GAS 2007 opened in Kyiv today. The forum runs till November 9 and will be joined by more than 300 companies from 21 countries, including representatives of European countries, Russia, the US and China, and, for the first time, Indonesia.

The Forum is organized by the Naftogaz of Ukraine, the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine, and ACCO International, an exhibition organizer.

According to the organizers, OIL & GAS 2007 will present cutting edge equipment and technologies for the exploration, extraction and transportation of oil and gas, construction in the oil-and-gas complex, accounting and control of oil products and gas, and many other exhibits.

In tandem with Oil & Gas 2007, the International Conference called “Oil and Gas Complex of Ukraine: Reliability, Stability and Prospects” will also be held on November 7 and 8.

President Viktor Yushchenko has sent his greetings to the organizers, participants and guests of the forum.

The Presidential press service reported that the President expressed confidence that forums of this nature provide extensive possibilities for establishing new partner contacts, deepening mutually beneficial international cooperation and raising such cooperation to a new level.

“The achievements of the national oil-and-gas and oil-processing industry presented at the exhibition characterize its development and capabilities, and testify to the role the sector is playing in the national economy,” Mr. Yushchenko noted.

The President stressed that today Ukraine needs exploration of promising new areas of underground resources, active modernization of existing production facilities, and the introduction of the latest global standards of quality, technology and equipment.

“I would like this exhibition to become one more important step in strengthening Ukraine’s reputation as a reliable partner in fuel extraction and transportation and an important landmark on its integration into the European and global economies,” said the statement from the Head of State.

The President wished the participants of the forum fruitful work, interesting meetings and successful realization of their plans.
