Ministry says Ukraine exported 4.3mn t grain since start of year

As of September 4, 2009, Ukraine had exported 4,281,000 t of grain, according to information from the Ministry of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine since the start of the current marketing year (July 2009 through June 2010).
This included 1,991,000 t wheat, 1.76 mn t barley, and 44,000 t maize, according to the Agricultural Ministry’s data.
The Ministry also reported that Ukraine supplied 2,155,000 t of grain to foreign markets, including 1,125,000 t of wheat, 880,000 t of barley and 116,000 t of maize in August alone.
The Ministry expects the grain harvest to be 42-43 million tonnes, with exports for the current marketing year of around 18 million t.
