Ukrainian President returns from UAE

Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko concluded a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates.
Ukraine’s Head of State meet with the President of the UAE, representatives of the Upper Governing Council of the UAE and the president of the Abu Dhabi emirate, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Ukrainian delegation and the UAE thus met in an extended group.
During the talks, the two sides considered the entire spectrum of topics in bilateral cooperation. This included cooperation between the two states in trade and commerce, energy, agriculture and the cultural and humanitarian spheres. Specific attention was given to the prospects of practical cooperation, which should add an aspect of pragmatism to bilateral relations, increase the attention of business circles in Ukraine and the UAE to the commercial potential of the two countries, and to expand this into the undertaking of joint commercial and investment projects.
Mr. Yushchenko also met with the management of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Abu Dhabi and representatives of businesses in the UAE. He also visited the Dubai Air Show.
The visit is expected to revive bilateral dialog at the highest levels and give new impulse to cooperation in areas that represent the strategic interests of both countries.
