Introduction Of Quotas For Grain Exports Postponed
January 24, 2008
The issue of introducing quotas for grain exports has been postponed to the next meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Journalists learned this today from the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Yuriy Melnyk.
“No decisions will be considered ‘on somebody's suggestion’, but only in accordance with the schedule,” Yu. Melnyk underlined.
It should be reminded that the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine suggests introducing a quota for grain exports in the volume of almost 2.5 million tons from April 1 till July 1, 2008. In their turn, grain traders do not support this suggestion and offer to increase the export quota up to 2.9 million tons of grain now.
