FDI into Ukraine grew 12% in 2009

Net growth of foreign direct investment into Ukraine’s economy was US $5.634 billion in 2009. Altogether, the volume of FDI grew 12% over 2009. Overall, foreign direct investment in Ukraine stood at US $40.027 billion at January 1, 2010, which is 12.4% more than was registered at January 1, 2009.
Investment has come to Ukraine from 125 different countries. Among the Top 10 are:
Cyprus US $8.583bn
Germany US $6.613bn
Holland US $4.002bn
Russia US $2.675bn
Austria US $2.604bn
The UK US $2.376bn
France US $1.640bn
The US US $1.387bn
BVI US $1.371bn
Sweden US $1.272bn
The volume of direct investment from Ukraine to other countries stood at US $6.223bn at January 1, 2010, including:
EU countries US $5.908bn 95.0%
CIS countries US $220.1mn 3.5%
Other countries US $94.9mn 1.5%
Ukrainian capital was invested in 51 different countries, although most of it went to Cyprus.
