ISD to deliver steel in the Middle East

The Ukrainian group, Industrial Union of Donbas (ISD), and the Litat Group have signed an agreement to supply 4.8 million tonnes of rolled steel to the Middle East in 2010.

Plans are to deliver 3.6mn t of sheet metal and 1.2mn t of steel slabs. The contract requires preliminary financing of production on the order of the Litat Group. ISD has been working with the Litat Group to sell metal products from the Alchevsk and Dniprovsk steelmills for more than 8 years. Annual sales as a result of this cooperation have averaged around 4 million tonnes of product.

BRIEF. The IDS Corporation was founded in 1995 and is an integrated holding company with controlling stakes in mining and metallurgy companies. The Corporation includes the Alchevsk Steel Plant, the Dzerzhinsky Dniprovsk Steel Plant, the Dunaferr Steel Plant in Hungary and ISD-Huta Czestochowa in Poland.
