Middle Eastern Investors to be presented 356 Ukrainian projects

The Ukraine – Middle East business centre has completed preparations for the presentation of investment projects due to be presented to investors from Middle East countries. In total, the projects envisage attracting investment into Ukraine to a sum exceeding 150bn dollars.

According to earlier reports, Ukrainian ministries and government agencies in charge of improving the investment climate have, in unison with major Ukrainian companies, presented 356 business projects of potential interest to investors from Middle Eastern countries. Based on the proposed projects, the Ukraine – Middle East business centre has developed a presentation of Ukraine’s investment opportunities for partners from the Middle East.

The proposed projects embrace almost all sectors of the Ukrainian economy and, in particular, energy saving and innovative technologies, agriculture, construction, transport sector, etc.

They include the construction of an international terminal at Zaporizhzhya airport (the size of investment envisaged by the project is 25.8bn dollars) and the multi-purpose Holytsynovo sea terminals in Mykolayiv Region (2.5bn dollars); liquefied natural gas supplies to Ukraine and the construction of a regasification terminal (2bn dollars), designing and constructing the No 3 and No 4 power units at the Khmelnytskiy nuclear power plant (2bn dollars); state program for building wind power stations in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by 2014 (7.7bn dollars) and the state technical research program “Development of production and use of types of biological fuel” (1.3bn dollars); garbage recycling units, agricultural projects (livestock breeding, plant cultivation, poultry farming) in all regions of Ukraine.
