For 8 months of 2010, Ukraine increased coal output 3%

Ukraine has increased the extraction of coal by 3.09% over January-August 2010, compared to the same period of 2009, up to 49,225,000 t, according to an announcement from the Ministry of the Coal Industry.
The extraction of heating oil rose 6.5%, to 32,832,000 t, while extraction of coke contracted 3% to 16,393,000 t.
Over January–August 2010, the companies under the Coal Ministry extracted a total of 24,963,000 t of coal, including 5,557,000 t of coking coal and 19,406,000 t of heating coal.
In August 2010, coal extraction in Ukraine stood at 5,121,000 t compared to August 2009, an increase of 8.2%.
