Tymoshenko Promises To Encourage Investors And Minimize Corruption

The Cabinet of Ministers plans to support business by opening the doors to all those who want to work in Ukraine, providing equal business conditions, and minimizing corruption, Premier Yulia Tymoshenko said at the opening of the constituent assembly of the Investors’ Council on Tuesday.
Premier Tymoshenko said that her Government intends to establish work with investors so that the government will report regularly on its activity.
Premier said establishing optimal conditions so that “everyone who wants to work in Ukraine finds open doors before them” was a top priority.
According to Ms. Tymoshenko, the second priority is establishing equal conditions for all businesses. “There should be no exemptions or preferences that create advantages for some organizations and unfavorable conditions for others,” she said.
The third priority, according to Premier Tymoshenko, is something the Government alone cannot achieve. “It’s not just the Government’s job to move Ukraine from bottom of the corruption rankings to a situation where corruption is really minimal,” said Ms Tymoshenko.
The Premier also cautioned that setting the objective of fully eradicating corruption was “much too ambitious,” although minimizing this phenomenon was absolutely necessary.
