Ukraine Invites UAE Businessmen To Invest In Euro-2012 Projects

Ukraine is studying prospects for participation of Emirati companies in the projects connected with the holding of Euro-2012. In particular, these days, a meeting took place in Abu Dabi (UAE) between Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Secretariat Oksana Sliusarenko and Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Foreign Trade Minister of the UAE, who co-chairs the Ukrainian-Emirati Intergovernmental Commission on the Issues of Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation.
Main issues of the negotiations were investment possibilities of Ukraine and prospects for participation of Emirati companies in the projects connected with the holding of Euro-2012. During the talks, Sliusarenko presented the national program of preparations for the European football championship to the Emirati Minister, emphasizing that the Ukrainian government is paying special attention to its successful organization. In this respect, the main infrastructure projects and relevant presentation materials were presented. During the meeting, the parties considered, among other things, the state and prospects of development of bilateral relations in such sectors as trade and economy, banking and finance, construction, oil, and others.
At the same time, they marked the steady growth of commodity turnover between the states, which exceeded USD 640 million in 2007, and underlined the necessity of active use of the existing cooperation potential.
