EU Cancels Antidumping Measures On Imports Of Ukrainian Carbamide

The European Union has cancelled the antidumping measures on imports of the carbamide manufactured in the Republic of Belarus, Libya, Croatia, and Ukraine. The measure is provided for inthe relevant EU Council Regulation, published in the Official Bulletin of the European Union.
According to the information obtained by LIGABusinessInform in the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the decision to cancel the measures was approved on the results of the reconsideration, which the European Commission commenced in December 2006 with the aim of studying the expediency of the further effect of the measures.
Ukrainian enterprises and the Economy Ministry took active part in the reconsideration of the issue and provided the European Commission with proper argumentation concerning the absence of threat or harm for the European industry from the Ukrainian producers in case the EU cancels the restrictive measures. According to Economy Ministry’s Head Bohdan Danylyshyn, the agency continues task-oriented work to ensure access of the Ukrainian mineral fertilizers to the EU market.
According to the Ministry of Economy the export of ammonium nitrate and carbamide-ammonium mixture (KAS) is presently limited by the EU antidumping measures.
