Ukraine Increased Exportation of Precious Metals and Jewelry

According to data provided by the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, during the period of five months in 2008 Ukraine has increased exportation of precious metals and jewelry by 87.5%, comparing to a similar period of 2007 – to 81.4 million dollars.

At the same time, importation of a commodity group mentioned above in January-May 2008 4.16 times increased – to 505 720 000 dollars.

Jewelry export made up 341.1 kg for 5 270 000 dollars, import – 4.84 tons for 20 990 000 dollars. Silver export reached 2.216 tons for 1 170 000 million dollars, import – 23.48 tons for 10 100 000 dollars. Gold import made up 14.366 kg for 426 320 000 million dollars.
