Ukraine’s investment banks in Top 10 among EMEA countries
March 18, 2009
For the first time, Ukrainian investment banks have reached the Top 10 lists of the annual international ratings of the well-known American publication, Institutional Investor, in the category “Emerging Markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).”
This rating is based on the results of a poll of more than 300 analysts and managers of 220 active funds oriented on EMEA. Altogether, they have portfolios worth US $226bn. These results were posted on the publication’s website.
In the category, “Stock Market Analysis. Ukraine,” Renaissance Capital Ukraine took first place. The company’s analysts were also acknowledged as best in all eight sectors in the poll: macroeconomics, stock market strategy, chemicals, financial services, mining and metallurgy, oil and gas, telecommunications, and power.
“We see this as a reward for our consistent attention to the market, which has been a priority for Renaissance since 2004,” said a company press release from Renaissance Capital Ukraine, quoting General Director Peter Vanhekke.
Troika Dialog, another investment bank, also reached 7th place on the Top 10 list.
“The results of this rating confirm the professional expertise of Troika Dialog on CIS markets and the high level of trust it has gained among investors. We’re pleased that our clients have given us such high marks for our analytical work,” noted Paolo Zaniboni, Head of Research at the Troika Dialog group of companies.
