Ukrainian Confectionery Company Launches Exports to the EU and Gulf Countries

Mondelēz Ukraine (former Kraft Foods Ukraine),a major confectionary producer, began supplying its products to the European market.

“We started producing Oreo Thins cookies for Europe. We re-equipped the Trostianets Confectionery and expanded the production line. Having invested USD 9 million, we started shipping to 12 EU countries, with another 6 Gulf countries to be added on the shipping list in 2017,” said Andrii Samusenko, the Company’s Commercial Director, in his interview to Delo.UA.

“We obtained Halal Certification in 2015, and started exporting our products to Arab countries. In 2016, Trostianets Confectionery increased its production amount by 10 percent, and we are looking forward to double that growth rate,” said Mr. Samusenko.

According to Samusenko, supplies to Turkey and Gulf countries increased in 2016, and now each of them is estimated at 10 percent of total exports.

“As for Europe, the supplies have just begun. We are planning to increase the European share of our exports by several times,” the top manager noted.
