EBRD Sees Ukraine’s Economic Future in Agrarian Sector

July 25, 2017
Ukraine’s agrarian sector is a locomotive that may drive the economic potential of the country, stated Şevki Acuner, EBRD Director for Ukraine, during the opening ceremony of a grain transshipment terminal in the town of Hola Prystan, Kherson region. The terminal was built by NIBULON company with funds received from the European Investment Bank.

“Agriculture is the factor that can activate Ukraine’s economic potential. Infrastructure facilities built by NIBULON are indeed the indicator of Ukraine’s potential as an agrarian country,” said Mr. Acuner. He also said that the EBRD would provide further support for developing the Ukrainian agrarian sector.

It is noteworthy that on June 14, during the opening ceremony of the transshipment terminal in Hola Prystan, EBRD Director for Ukraine Sevki Acuner and NIBULON’s Director General Oleksiy Vadaturskiy signed a USD 90 million loan agreement. The funds are to be allocated to further development of water transport infrastructure and cargo shipbuilding  in Ukraine.
