Ukraine Increases Export of Meat Products

August 24, 2017
During the first half of 2017, exports of meat products increased by over 45 percent (from 121 to 176 thousand tons) against the same period in 2016, as reported by Mykola Puhachov, Deputy Director of National Research Centre “Institute of Agrarian Economy”.

According to him, such positive results were achieved through continued geographical diversification and securing positions on the new markets.

The five largest importers of Ukrainian meat products were Egypt (17.3 percent), the Netherlands (14.2 percent), Azerbaijan (9.7 percent), Belarus (8.4 percent) and Iraq (5.9 percent).

Considerable amounts of Ukrainian products are shipped to Georgia, Germany, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan and the UAE.
