Saudi Arabia could become a permanent importer of Ukrainian barley

October 6, 2011

Ukraine offered Saudi Arabia a long-term plan for cooperation in agriculture, in particular, for the purchase of barley. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov at a meeting with the Minister of Finance of Saudi Arabia, Ibrahim al-Assaf.

“I would like to offer your Government a specific plan of cooperation. We could establish a plan of barley imports for each year depending on the amount  you require.. We can grow as much barley as you need. But in order to allocate the area to cultivate barley, ensure the quality, volume and delivery dates we need some assurances. It could have been a long term partnership. We could do similar thing with production of other food products,“ – said Mykola Azarov according to the Department of Information and Communication of the Secretariat of the CMU.
